Weinberg operator contribution to the nucleon electric dipole moment in the quark model

چکیده
We evaluate the contribution of CP violating gluon chromo-electric dipole moment (the so-called Weinberg operator, denoted as $w$) to electric (EDM) nucleons in nonrelativistic quark model. The CP-odd interquark potential is modeled by perturbative one-loop level exchange generated operator with massive quarks and gluons. nucleon EDM obtained solving Schr\"{o}dinger equation three-quark system using Gaussian expansion method. It found that resulting EDM, which may reasonably be considered irreducible contribution, smaller than one after $\gamma_5$-rotating anomalous magnetic mass calculated QCD sum rules. estimate total $d_n = w \times 20 \, e {\rm MeV}$ $d_p - 18 60% theoretical uncertainty.

Vanishing Contribution to quark electric dipole moment in the 2HD model with CKM CP violation
In the standard model ( SM ) of electroweak interactions, CP noninvariance arises from the nonzero phase in the CKM matrix. Its contribution to the quark electric dipole moment ( EDM ) vanishes surprisingly at two loop order. This makes the quark EDM extremely small in the SM. In this paper, we consider the two Higgs doublet extension of the SM and assume that CP noninvariance is still encoded ...

We present a complete three-loop calculation of the electric dipole moment of the u and d quarks in the Standard Model. For the d quark, more relevant for the experimentally important neutron electric dipole moment, we nd cancellations which lead to an order of magnitude suppression compared with previous estimates. The electric dipole moment (EDM) of the neutron, d n , has been subject of expe...

متن کاملA Lower Bound on the Neutron Electric Dipole Moment in the Weinberg Ansatz for Cp Violation*
We deduce a lower limit on the neutron electric dipole moment in the. Weinberg ansatz for CP violation. The resulting number is comparable to the existing experimental upper limit; this ansatz will therefore be critically tested by the next round of experiments using ultra-cold neutrons.
